The Subaru Impreza first debuted in 1993, at the time of its introduction it was very conventional in style and designed to compete with high volume compacts. At the time, the basic engine was a 1.8 liter four cylinder producing a very modest 110 horsepower but a larger 2.2 liter, 135 horsepower engine was available. Two years after its original introduction Subaru added a two door coupe to the range as well as a sports model.

Any used Subaru Impreza in Frankfort is great value; throughout all the years that it has been produced in different variants with different options the vehicle has never lost sight of its initial roots; sturdily built, very capable in all weather conditions and very responsive and comfortable driving characteristics. The engines have kept growing in performance and horsepower but they all retain the performance they are known for. As any used Subaru Impreza in Frankfort has a low center of gravity they handle like a dream, especially when coupled with all-wheel drive.

In 2008 the Impreza range underwent a complete redesign, the sedan became considerably larger than previous generations and the station wagon variant was replaced all together with a new five door hatchback. By this time the cars were built using a base 2.5 liter, 170 horsepower engine, four wheel drive and choice of either automatic or manual transmissions.

A year later Subaru introduced the 2.5 GT. This machine had a full 224 horsepower engine that gave owners a taste of what driving the high performance rally inspired WRX was like but kept its comfortable ride. This variant became very popular for those that didn’t need the same handling characteristics of the WRX but still wanted more power.

Since its introduction, the Subaru Impreza has been standard with all-wheel drive, the only compact car that is. Any used Subaru Impreza in Frankfort will provide its new owner a safe, reliable and durable vehicle that will last for years with proper care.
